Waste-to-energy

BHL Energy Series

Biogas systems that convert animal manure, poultry and pig waste, agricultural residue, human waste and organic industrial waste into clean cooking gas and electricity. Includes gas collection, purification, moisture removal, hydrogen sulphide treatment and pressure management. The digested output returns to the soil as biofertiliser.

Waste management

BHL Sanitation Series

Biodigester septic systems that treat human waste biologically instead of simply storing it. New builds or conversion of existing septic tanks, with inlet and outlet systems, soakaway and slurry design, wastewater management and ongoing maintenance support.

Who we serve

Different Sites. Different Problems. One Technical Team.

Homes and farms

Cut fuel costs and put waste to work

Households, farmers, poultry farms and piggeries produce organic waste every day. We turn it into cooking gas, power and biofertiliser, or treat it safely where sanitation is the priority.

Institutions

Reliable sanitation and energy for facilities that cannot stop

Schools, universities, hospitals, churches, NGOs and government institutions need systems that handle high volumes and keep running. We provide site assessment, technical design, formal costing, installation, commissioning and staff training.

Commercial properties

Backup power, fuel flexibility and lower operating costs

Shopping malls, retail centres, supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, office complexes and warehouses depend on backup power and generate significant waste. We support generator and water pump conversion, wastewater management, food-waste-to-energy systems and environmental compliance.

Portrait of Edward Kahaya, Lead Biogas and Energy Systems Engineer

Edward Kahaya

Lead Biogas and Energy Systems Engineer

Technical leadership

Led by an Engineer With Eleven Years in the Field.

Edward Kahaya holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and has spent eleven years designing and installing biogas systems, biodigesters, sanitation infrastructure and alternative energy systems.

His work began in Uganda in 2015 with the Belgian Technical Cooperation, now Enabel, on a biogas system of around 120 cubic metres at Kaliro Technical Institute. It continued with a system of around 160 cubic metres at Abilonino Instructors College in 2016 and septic conversion and biogas projects with Uganda's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, including work at Kabojja Preparatory and Nyakasura Secondary School.

His largest installation to date is around 300 cubic metres of gas. Since November 2022 he has led biodigester and generator conversion work in Malawi.

Capabilities Behind Every System.

Our process

Every Project Starts With Your Site.

(01)

Site Assessment

We evaluate existing infrastructure, site conditions, waste streams and energy requirements in person.

(02)

Technical Design

We design a practical solution matched to your site, needs and budget.

(03)

Costing and Planning

We set out materials, equipment, labour and the implementation plan before work begins.

(04)

Installation

Skilled personnel carry out construction, installation or conversion.

(05)

Testing and Commissioning

Every system is tested for correct operation before handover.

(06)

Training and Support

We train the people who will run the system and provide technical support afterwards.
